Job Description

At Interactive Strategies, we collaborate with mission-driven organizations like the American Lung Association, American Kidney Fund, Rainforest Trust, and Special Olympics—to design digital experiences that spark action and make a difference. These aren’t just projects; they’re opportunities to amplify voices, share powerful stories, and create real-world impact.

As a Digital Designer, you’ll play a hands-on role in shaping how these causes connect with their audiences. Whether you’re crafting bold social media campaigns, designing sleek and accessible websites, or producing motion graphics that bring a message to life, your work will help organizations stand out and inspire change. You’ll be part of a thoughtful, collaborative team that values great design and great causes just as much.

What You'll Do

  • Social Media Design: Craft bold, on-brand visuals for social campaigns, paid ads, and social-first storytelling. Your designs will drive engagement and boost visibility for meaningful causes.
  • Email Design: Develop eye-catching email templates and campaign assets that don't just look good, but also drive clicks and conversions. You'll help push the boundaries of what's possible in email design.
  • Web & Branding Projects: Design websites, landing pages, and visual identities that reflect our clients' missions—always with aesthetics, usability, and responsiveness in mind.
  • Animation & Video Content: Create dynamic motion graphics and video content that enhance client messaging and help clients stand out in a crowded digital landscape.
  • Collaboration: Partner with senior designers, strategists, project managers, and clients to ensure creative outputs are aligned, impactful, and polished. You’ll be a key contributor across concepting, execution, and refinement.
  • Creative Problem-Solving: Tackle design challenges with a strategic mindset—balancing visual appeal, clarity, accessibility, and purpose in every solution.

What We’re Looking For

  • 3–5 years of professional experience in digital design (agency or nonprofit experience a plus)
  • A portfolio that showcases your work across social, web, branding, illustration, and motion/video content
  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, Figma, and motion tools like After Effects or Premiere Pro
  • A sharp eye for typography, color, composition, and design systems
  • Detail-oriented, organized, and confident managing multiple projects in a fast-paced environment
  • A growth mindset—open to feedback, iteration, and continuous improvement
  • A collaborative spirit and a passion for work that makes a difference
  • A feeling that creativity is not just your career, it is a big part of what defines you. Are you also an illustrator? a photographer? a writer? These things matter and we want to hear about them

Benefits
We have a simple motto when it comes to company culture, "Everyone deserves to come to work and be happy." This means a few things: (1) we care as much about quality as we do about budgets, (2) we find the strengths in each employee and nurture them, (3) we encourage a culture that values innovation and creative freedom, and (4) we want you to have fun while you’re at the office.
We allow our employees creative freedom. We treat them with respect. We value their opinions. In that spirit, we offer the following benefits:

  • Company-sponsored health, vision, and dental insurance
  • Pre-tax Flexible Spending Account (FSA)
  • Profit sharing
  • 4 weeks of PTO to start; 5+ weeks after year 3
  • Company-paid short- and long-term disability
  • Company-paid life and AD&D insurance
  • 11 paid holidays
  • 401k with company match
  • New business referral bonus
  • Professional development opportunities
  • Flexible work schedule
  • Pre-tax DC Metro SmartBenefits

Salary Range: $70,000 - $87,550
