Job Summary Under the direction of the Director of the Director of Nursing, the Infection Control/Employee Health nurse is responsible for the development, implementation, direction and operation of the Jewish Home of CNY’s infection prevention and control (IPCP) and Employee Health programs. The IC/EH nurse also takes responsibility for ensuring compliance with state and federal regulatory requirements related to Infection Control and Employee Health. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS * Completion of specialized infection prevention and control training and certification. (CDC IC Training Program) * Graduate of accredited school of nursing with a RN license to practice in New York State (preferred). * CPR certified, BLS Certified preferred * 3 years of Infection Control, Employee Health, (or a combination of both) experience, (preferred). * Dynamic, engaging personality * Experience with staff education * Effective communicator with the ability to establish positive, collaborative relationships with all staff and leadership * Detailed oriented with excellent time management skills and the ability to plan, organize, prioritize, and work independently to meet deadlines. * Knowledge of DOH and CMS regulatory requirements. * Flexible working schedule with the ability to accommodate off shift and weekend hours as necessary * Ability to multi-task and work under pressure to meet project deadlines and needs of the facility as they arise. * Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information * Working knowledge of excel, and computer skills PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS * Ability to sit and stand for extended periods of time * Ability to bend, be on your knees, transfer, lift, move, turn, use equipment for training purposes * Must be able to repetitively lift 26-50 pounds and push/pull 250 pounds. * Moderate exposure to communicable disease BENEFITS: * Paid Vacation/PTO * 401k with match * Health/Dental/Vision We are an equal opportunity employer and prohibit discrimination/harassment without regard to race, color, religion, age, sex, national origin, disability status, genetics, protected veteran status, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, or any other characteristic protected by federal, state or local laws.
