Job Summary: Senior Oracle DBA - Remote


- Assess and recommend strategies for Oracle database architecture, upgrades, and maintenance in line with industry standards.
- Lead database upgrade processes, including major version releases and implementation of new features.
- Design, install, configure, and administer Oracle Database, Real Application Clusters (RAC), Active Data Guard, and Advanced Compression for multiple applications.
- Administer and optimize Oracle Enterprise Manager and manage multiple Oracle RAC databases, including n-node clusters, data recovery, and security roles.
- Configure and manage physical standby databases, including switchover/failover and troubleshooting standby issues.
- Perform configuration management, performance tuning, and administration of mission-critical production databases.
- Execute schema and table-level data refreshes between production and non-production environments using Data Pump (EXPDP/IMPDP).
- Monitor backup, error logs, space, object, performance, user, and session activity to ensure database capacity and availability.
- Provide production and non-production support, leading troubleshooting efforts for database and application performance issues.
- Review and enhance backup and recovery strategies for all environments.
- Collaborate with development teams to optimize application performance and lead database tuning initiatives.
- Document all database environments and processes; mentor and guide IT staff as needed.
- Implement and manage Oracle security features, including Advanced Security Options (TDE, Data Redaction, Unified Auditing).
- Work with Oracle Goldengate for data replication and migration needs.
- Maintain database lifecycle processes (CI/CD, upgrades, patches, deployments).
- Utilize and script in AIX and Linux/UNIX environments; support cloud database management as needed.
- Use tools such as Oracle Enterprise Manager Suite, Grid Control, TOAD/SQL Developer, and Microsoft Office suite.



Required Experience:
- 8+ years as an Oracle DBA (including 5+ years on AIX OS v7.x+).
- 6+ years configuring Oracle RAC and using Oracle ASM.
- 8+ years using RMAN backup utility.
- 8+ years performance/application SQL tuning (3+ in Oracle RAC).
- 7+ years supporting application system development lifecycle.
- 7+ years performing database upgrades/patches (3+ years on Oracle/RAC).
- 4+ years setting up/configuring Data Guard (2+ with Active Data Guard).
- 5+ years using snapshot cloning with Oracle ACFS and RAC/standby.
- 3+ years data modeling/application database design and PL/SQL coding.
- 6+ years scripting in AIX (UNIX/Shell).
- 9+ years with Oracle Enterprise Manager Suite and related tools.
- Experience in CI/CD database deployment and cloud database management is a strong plus.
- Excellent communication, customer service, and client management skills.
